Andrew does not know about this blog yet. I am going to send it to him when he gets on the ship. So if you want to send him, or the other Marines on the cruise, a message, feel free to do so. I am sure that they would appreciate it. Just click on the title of any post and there will be a place at the bottom for “replies”. Just type your message in there and click on “submit comment”.

Today Andrew left for a 5 day cruise to the Caribbean. They are leaving from Miami tomorrow at 4:00. There are 13 Marines going on the cruise. They all just got back from Iraq. They deserve this cruise! One of the Marines has a mother who is a travel agent. She arranged the whole thing for them and got them a really good price.
One marine left from Connecticut and was picking up marines all the way to Florida! One from West Virginia met them here. They were tired, but excited to be home and going on a cruise.
They will be going to the Grand Cayman and Cozumel on Norwegian Cruise Lines.

We thought that it would never happen. It was a long 7 months. Now he has been home for over a week and we are just getting used to the idea. He has had a great week.
He bought a car while he was in Iraq. He found it on the internet. We rode over to Baltimore and checked it out for him. He decided to go for it and wired us the money. We picked it up, cleaned it up, got it tagged, and took it to North Carolina for his homecoming. He was very excited. We left the car with him and we came home to wait some more. Debriefing!

The local merchants were kind enough to give him the “HERO WELCOME” that he deserved. They put messages on their roadside signs for him. Margo and I tried to get pictures of them all. I feel as though we missed some and I apologize for that. I know that this is the busiest time of the year for these business people, yet they gave their time and sign space for our son. We are very thankful. Click here to see them.
Andrew could not believe all of the signs with his name on them. I think that he doesn’t think that he did anything special. It was plain for him to see that no one else thought that!
